Tokyo Damage Report

i’m ok

Thanks to everyone who mailed their support. This quake is fucked. Sorry to everyone who came to this website hoping for an ACTUAL Tokyo Damage Report.

As a way of apology, here is a simple e-mail you can send to your Japanese friends asking them in a concerned but not overly formal way if they are ok  (and also letting them know they are not obliged to mail you back.)

Just swap the XXX out and pop in their name, of course.

Heh, google translate claims that last line translates as:
"Reply to this email is required."
    Faulty negation detection?

I'm also glad you are ok. I've been following your blog for some years now and this is the first time I'm commenting (as far as I can remember).

I hope you have enough water, food and electricity. I read today, it's rationed now. All the best!

That's everyone accounted for then (:
It's been hell trying to keep up with the news, 'cause all you get is conflicting info

One of your old Vats tracks came on the player as I was reading the latest about the quake – and I thought "Schultz!!", so came here to see some word from you. Honestly good to know you yourself are ok,  sir.  Reading about all this stuff from our hideout here in the PRC is heartbreaking.  I'll pass the update to others who'll be wondering.

Hey man. Also really glad you're OK. Hang in there. I have a friend living up in the affected area – heard from him on Sunday and he's OK too although a little shaken.
Here in Kobe, we're organising a supply drive. Collecting all the shit we can – blankets, clothes, dried and non-perishable food, bottled water, kairos, toiletries, feminine hygiene products and a bunch of other stuff. Sending it up through our city hall. I've got a friend heading up there to volunteer as well (won't get in the way – has experience in search and rescue in disaster zones).

There seems to be a way to get up there through Yamagata prefecture: http://www2.pref.yamagata.jp/ou/somu/020054/transportation.pdf – please pass it on to anybody who is thinking of heading up there.
There's a bunch of us heading up in the next month as well to volunteer once the situation has stabilized and we can actually help instead of getting in the way.
    Stay safe!

Hope them high rankers will catch a wake up from all those years paying out fake nuclear supervisors.

Hi man, glad to hear you and yours are fine.

Everything is fine and groovy here too.
Well, you can take the groovy part out, but we're fine, at least.

Long time reader, haven't visited the site in a while, came here to see if you were OK and had some perspective on the situation. Not sure at all what to think about the news coming out of Japan. The news in America is saying it's "bad", but the actual information is vague. I had to go to NHK to see that "pumping seawater into the reactor", which sounds technical and reassuring, was actually like firetrucks and helicopters desperately flinging water at the site. It sounds much more vague and less fucked on the American news. Anyway, I hope you stay safe and that things get better real soon over there.

Stay strong. what is back in the Bay Area? A bunch of elitist restoration hardware stink waiting in line for Ipads with their carpel tunnel syndrome slings and moob polos while people sleep in their own piss two feet away?  The Crystal Labiarchy in their Volvos?  More earthquakes?
Japan is your home don't let anyone tell you to leave unless you want to. Orca Loc gets to steppin when Orca Loc wants to get to steppin! Just thinking about you and hoping you are alright. xoxox
